Stone Temple Pilots Reportedly Set to Announce New Singer

Nearly a year after former frontman Scott Weiland‘s death, Stone Temple Pilots may have ended their search for a new lead singer.

Entertainment Tonight reports that band members Dean DeLeo, Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz have selected former X Factor finalist Jeffrey Adam Gutt to take over vocal duties. According to the show’s sources, the new STP lineup has been writing and recording for several months, and current plans call for them to tour in 2017 with a set list that includes “classic STP hits along with new songs.”

Reports of Gutt’s arrival come after months of rumors regarding the band’s future. Their previous singer, Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, left the lineup in 2015, and in recent weeks, it was suggested that singer John Borja had gotten the gig, although an official announcement never came — and if Entertainment Tonight‘s sources are correct, now we know why.

Gutt, who competed on The X Factor in 2013, would beat out a list of contenders that included anyone who submitted vocals through the open audition the band held through its website earlier this year. Guitarist Dean DeLeo explained the process to Rolling Stone, saying they put out the call for submissions because they believed they’d be doing themselves a “disservice if we didn’t allow all the talent that is out there to become a part of this.” While insisting they weren’t going to pick a singer just for the sake of having one, he expressed optimism that they’d find a way to move forward.

“What we’re looking for is a pretty tall order, man. We’ve had the fortune of playing with some of the greatest and most talented singers out there,” DeLeo argued. “Robert, Eric and I know what we want, and, like I said earlier, when that person walks into a room, we’ll know.”

Celebrities Demand Peace after Dallas Shootings

Stephen Nnamdi

The world was shocked once again over last Thursday’s events in Dallas. The death of Alton Sterling by the hands of 2 white police officers has sparked huge protests across the country. Even though officials promised transparent investigations and punishment to those responsible for the murder of Sterling, those promises were not enough for the majority of the US population protesting across different cities. One of those protests was organised in the heart of Dallas on July 7th. During the Black Lives Matter march, 5 officers were killed and 6 were injured by Micah Johnson, a 25 year old who was determined to kill white police officers.

Here is how celebrities, politicians and other famous people reacted to the tragedy.

LA is probably the most famous hotspot for big and small talents. Young artists with big dreams keep constantly moving there in search for a producer or the “Big Guy” to discover their talent and live their Cinderella story. The internet has crushed the music industry: with platforms such as Soundcloud, Bandcamp, Datpiff and many more, it has given the opportunity to the rising artists to shine and share their music without a major record company.

UK music producer A.M. SNiPER is one of the most innovative up and coming names in the club scene, and is set to host the Napa Rocks music festival alongside Chris Brown and KSI this summer.

A.M. Sniper is notorious for mixing different genres of music, which is why we simply can’t get enough of the quiet metaphor which is drawn between this epic beat-chopper and his new Kung Fu music video. The video is a powerful tribute to old school Kung Fu. The music blends EDM and hip-hop with a powerful punch. When you listen to the song, you might not know what genre it is, but staying in your seat won’t be an option for sure. A.M. Sniper along with his partner in crime producer Jaguar Skills, cut, chop and remix each section so you never quite know what’s around the corner. You will be unknowingly rehearsing the lyrics, and possibly some of the Kung Fu moves after seeing this video.
