Aspen Food & Wine Classic has long been an exclusive festival that always had its party goers leave with a smile, but made sure they left them wanting to come back for more. This year was no exception as the Last Bite Dessert Party at the Aspen Food & Wine Classic delivered more fun that what people were expecting.
The Harry & David life-size Moose was the hit of the event capturing party goers and top chefs seated atop the almost 7-foot tall beast wearing sunglasses, moose ears and beanies throughout the night! The evening was hosted by Chefs Gail Simmons and Johnny Iuzinni and attended by chef friends including Giada De Laurentiis, Marcus Samuelsson and Edward Lee.
Items of interest:
- Giada De Laurentiis, looking skinnier than ever, was seen filling up at the Harry & David Moose Munch Bar at the Last Bite Dessert Party at the Aspen Food & Wine Classic.
- Top Chefs Johhny Iuzinni and Edward Lee boarded the Harry & David life-size moose creating quite a scene and scaring the staff of a possible Moose collapse!
- Ladies’ man, Marcus Samuelsson danced the evening away and couldn’t seem to keep off the Harry & David life-size moose at the Last Bite Dessert Party at the Aspen Food & Wine Classic!
- As the evening progressed a sugar fueled dance party ensued, kicked off with a dance off by Gail Simmons and Johnny Iuzinni who sported Harry & David moose ears throughout the entire evening.
Five thousand attendees grabbed tickets to the sold out, hands-on event at $1,225 a pop (those who didn’t have tickets were kicked out! Don’t believe me? Just ask New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker who was reportedly trying to crash a cooking event for an impromptu bachelor party).
Festival goers celebrated the decadent weekend with a “Last Bite” late night dessert party featuring star pastry chef Johnny Izzuni hosted by Top Chef judge Gail Simmons.
Elvis Costello & The Blue Beguilers hosted a benefit concert featuring food by critically-acclaimed chefs, Food Network star Bobby Flay hosted a 5K charity run benefitting F&W’s Grow for Good initiative, chef cook-offs and a fun Q&A with Giada De Laurentiis.
The event hit its 30th anniversary and left its attendants satisfied with their appetites for a weekend of elegant eating.
Thanks for the update!!!! I tried getting into the event myself sadly the tickets were already sold out 🙁
Maybe next year but I must say Aspen is one of a kind!
Do you know of any other places in Tucson I might want to bring family?
